Our Story

Before L&R Plumbing, Larry Dickinson established Larry’s Handy Plumbing services in the Sacramento area in 2010. For 14 years, Larry Dickinson independently ran Larry’s Handy Plumbing Services as a family-owned business with a property management background. In 2023, Larry welcomed Rick Scandone to the company and together they strive to provide plumbing services with the intention to help others and reach the Sacramento community on a larger scale.

Meet The Owners

Larry Dickinson started working in the plumbing industry in 1977 and has lived in the Sacramento area for a little over 20 years. Alongside watching his six kids and 17 grandchildren grow up, Larry has provided excellent plumbing services for over 26 years. In 2008, he started his business, Larry’s Handy Plumbing Services, and in 2010 he obtained his contractor's license. Larry independently ran Larry’s Handy Plumbing Services for 13 years, and in 2023, welcomed Rick Scandone to the team in a business partnership.

Larry strives to give his client’s peace of mind by being on call and available at a moment’s notice. He is passionate about maintaining a trustworthy business which prioritizes the happiness of his clients rather than monetary value. When Larry is not in office or on a call, he is found riding dirt bikes or playing a game of softball with his league.

Born and raised in the Sacramento area, Rick Scandone started his plumbing career in 1994. For the first six years in the Water business, he worked as a grade three Water Distribution Operator and Water Treatment Plant Operator for the state of California. During his time in the field, he has worked in both commercial and residential plumbing. From 1999 to 2005, Rick independently operated his own plumbing business. As of today, Rick has been plumbing in the Sacramento area for over 25 years and is currently working alongside Larry Dickinson in a business partnership.

Rick strives to build a clientele that is built on honest communication and transparency. In his own words, he believes that “It is essential that our client’s understand the service and/or installation being provided to them so that they have all the necessary information to make an educated decision moving forward in their experience with us.”
